Updated Januby Jessica Thomas: The Story of Season franchises is now gearing up for another release on Nintendo Switch with Pioneers of Olive Town. The first game in the franchise was released back in 1996, and since that time, there have been a total of 28 games released as of January of 2021. And the gambling is super addictive. The Harvest Moon game series, now called Story of Seasons, is one of the best-selling game series on the planet that requires players to farm, socialize, and manage the property. Also it's so easy to raise friendship points due to the dog/cat cheat, although I'm yet to earn anything from maxing them out. You can grow trees, have multiple buildings, and it's constantly raining so you don't have to water crops as often. However I will admit that the farming is a lot better. You can't go on dates, don't get invited to villagers houses for parties, the festivals don't allow you to participate much, and there's no story arcs where characters grow and develop like on Fomt/Mfomt. Other than heart events there's almost no interactive cutscenes, you sorta just watch them all. I had hoped there would at least be a fix for the saving issue, which would have hopefully fixed the freezing issue as it did for one of the other people who had this problem, but it sounds like theres already nothing to be done. My favourite part of HM is the social aspect, and it seems like these games are extremely stripped of it. Re: Harvest Moon DS Cute Savegames Issue I did use cheats at one point, but the issue with saving was still happening before then. Thanks for your comment! Mfomt is my only GBA game and as it's always been in my DS I had no idea the mineral town batchelores were an extra feature until reading about it, I thought they were just always there lol! It's cool seeing them drawn in a new style. Overall there’s SO much to do in these games I NEVER get bored! Harvest Moon DS: Cute is the enhanced version of Harvest Moon DS with a slightly different plot and a female protagonist.
It’s always fun when you’re working in a field and all of a sudden a sprite shows up. You can also mine forever if that’s your thing (just make sure you have plenty of bodigizers and turbojolts!)Īnd then there’s the over-arcing story of saving the harvest goddess from the other world by saving harvest sprites. And foraging? If that’s what you want to do you can forage all day with huge tracts of land all over the valley. You want to raise animals? Well cool! You can choose how many coops or barns you want.
You like farming? Great! Here’s a huge plot of land. Having the farm be customizable is great because you aren’t locked in on any one style of game play. I love the graphics and mechanics in them, as well as the use of Forget-Me-Not Valley from AWL. Harvest Moon DS Cute for DS game reviews & Metacritic score: Has Forget-Me-Not Valley lost its magic You're a late-blooming farmer, but the Harvest King doesn't have patience for girls who play all day. Since then the series has evolved slowly, with small additions making for a more complete package.

They take what FoMT and MFoMT did and expand it. Harvest Moon first hit the United States a full decade ago on the SNES, giving gamers an entertaining and decidedly different experience from games at the time.
